Here are a few examples of Texts and videos that I personally am fond of for certain reasons. They will al be of the genre we are trying to emulate, this being the indie scene.
The first video is The Look by Metronomy
We are fond of this video as the music correlates very well with the video, the whole vibe and connotations promoted suit to the dot. This video gains such success through its simplistic nature, An example of which being the use of colours in the background, this time being white. We may look to duplicate this idea as its so effective in the video, also the cameo use of the pigeons telling a mini narrative.
The next song is Lonely Boy by The Black Keys
This video appeals to me again though its simple nature, its one continues clip no editing used, this video would be very easily duplicated because of this. The real problem with trying to emulate this video would be trying to find an actor/dancer confident enough to dance this freely. The Actor/Dancer is what makes this video so fun to watch over and over again.
The final song is Time by Jungle
This video appeals to me as i am a big fan of the text (the song). the simplistic nature of this text is matched with a very similar video. Very fews shots are used and in a similar sense to The Black Keys- Lonely Boy video, what makes it fun to watch is the performance of the characters. This sort of video is common ground used across all of their other videos, A simple idea that is very effective. The last two videos have shown me that when creating my own music video the performance of certain characters will make or break my video.
